What do all the dress codes mean?
Dress codes can be a little tricky. We've tried to summarise each one here:
Formal: Also known as "Lounge suit". Formal gowns and suits/ties are usually required for formal.
Smart casual: Dress casually but smartly. Whatever you feel comfortable in, and can include chinos, jeans, dresses, shirts, skirts. Button up shirts can be worn or dressy t-shirts. Flats or heels are both capable for this dress code.
Party: For going out, feel free to wear cocktail, party, casual, formal (stay dressed from the wedding). It's really up to you as to what you'd like to wear for a night on the town.
For more explanation on the most common dress codes and examples, see Vogue's dress code site.
What time does the wedding ceremony start?
The wedding ceremony starts at 1.30pm. Please arrive at least 30 minutes early to allow time for parking and seating. For more details about the start time of each event, please see the Details Page.
The party and reception are both casual, so feel free to arrive when it suits. Speeches however will start around 1.30pm on the Sunday.
Where do we park?
For the wedding ceremony, there is some on street parking, however this is very limited. Please don't park in the Church grounds as this will be reversed for the wedding party. Instead, please use the Volt Lane car park:
For the reception, please follow the signs once you reach the Mannering's property for car parking.
Why are there three events?
We wanted to make everything super casual, fun, and not stressful for anyone involved. There are no obligations for you to be at any particular event. Feel to join us for as little as much as you like. Don't forget to RSVP for the event/s you can attend so we can plan accordingly.
What is happening on Saturday night?
After the wedding ceremony, and after cake and champagne in the grounds, the bridal party will be heading off for some photos. Later that evening, the bridal party and the two immediate families will be having an intimate dinner to celebrate. Around 9.30pm we'll head out to Paddy's and celebrate with you all! It's a casual pub/bar setting where you're free to order your own food and drinks. Head into Paddy's early to grab some dinner from the beer garden, or check out the recommendations below for great places to eat. The reception will follow on Sunday with more cake and some speeches.
When are cake and speeches?
You know us, there will be cake at every event 🎂! We'll cut the wedding cake and have champagne in the Church grounds after the Ceremony. There will also be cake cut and served at the Reception. We will try to accommodate all dietary needs so you can join us in celebrating.
Speeches will take place around 1.30pm during the Reception.
What about gifts?
We really appreciate your presence at our wedding and are really excited to celebrate with you all. We know finances are tough for a lot of people, and many of you are travelling to attend our wedding. Gifts are certainly not expected. However, if you would like to present a gift, you can check out our online Gift Registry. If you'd like to send a gift via post, contact Mish and Max for their address. We will also have a wishing well if you'd like to contribute finanically. Mish and Max will be using the funds for their honeymoon, and adding to their new house.
Can I bring a plus one?
Our wedding is such a special day and we're looking forward to having you there. Plus ones (long term significant others) are invited, as well as your children. Please continue to be mindful however of numbers, and be sure to include your party's numbers when you RSVP.
What about kids?
The wedding ceremony and reception are both kid friendly. Feel free to bring your kids, and there should be plenty of other kids around. The Mannerings have lots of space for the kids to run around and we should have some activites for them too. Please note that the Saturday party at Paddy's is a licensed venue and thus there is a strict 18+ only rule.
What do we do in Albury?
Whilst Mish and Max are getting photos after the ceremony, and before we go out partying that night, you're probably wondering what you'll do. You might also be planning to stay a little longer in Albury.
We sort of assume people will split off into groups and explore some of Albury, grab some food, drinks, or just enjoy the (hopefully) nice weather. Albury is an awesome place and there are lots to do. It'll also be summer, so hopefully it's warm enough for swimming. Here are some ideas:
Grab some food: There are tonnes of great places for food and drink in Albury. Check out the food and drink recommendations below
Take a swim: Albury is known for its great rivers and lakes. If it's warm enough, head to Noreuil Park and go for a swim in the river. Please note this isn't patrolled and a decent amount of experience is required. Make sure you're with other people when you go to the river. The river is also a great place for kayaking and canoeing. If you're staying a few days, check out Murry River Canoe Hire who can hire out kayaks and canoes for small or large groups. It's a great day out and a perfect way to experience the countryside. If you're not into swimming, there are plenty of walking paths around Noreuil Park.
Go for a drive: There are lot of things to see around Albury including Lake Hume, The Botanic Gardens, and Monument Hill to name a few. You'll get the whole view of Albury from Monument Hill and you can either drive or walk to the top. Everything is within a short drive from Albury, so it's easy to get around. If you're staying a few days, we'd recommend heading for a drive around the Rutherglen Wine Region.
Check out the local art gallery: Yes Albury is cultured! Head to the local Art Gallery to see some local and travelling art.
Enjoy nature: If you like to get outside, head to the Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk. It's an 8.5km walk for the whole track, and is mostly flat and sealed. You'll see lots of indigenous artwork and plenty of local flora and fauna. There's also Wonga Wetlands where you might see turtles, fish, kangaroos, birds, and if you're lucky, a platypus!
Take the kids out to play: If the kids are tagging along and you need them to burn some energy, head to Oddies Creek Playground. It's fairly new and so cool and we're jealous we're not kids anymore!
Decompress: Not everyone wants to go explore or see things. You might like to decompress in a quiet space or with a good book. Check out the Albury LibraryMuesum for some spectacular architecture, free muesum, and lots of good books. It's the perfect way to unwind before heading out again.
Do you have recommendations for food?
There are lots of great places to eat around Albury. 2640 Restaurant and Bar is a delightful venue with delicious food. There are also plenty of chain restaurants such as Grill'd, Mad Mex, Taco Bill, and Zambrero's. However, Albury has great food! If you're into Japanese and Dumplings, you have to try Hapi. It's so yummy. Essentially, head to Dean St and you'll find an abundance of food. If the weather is warm, you can't go past Monumental Icecream 🍨! If you're looking for drinks, ZedBar is a fantastic place for fancy cocktails. You'll probably be looking for somewhere for breakfast too, and you can't go past Mr Benedict who are known for delicious, Melbourne-approved coffee and yummy food. There's also Early Bird Cafe and The Proprietor both of which we highly recommend. During the day, The River Deck Cafe is one of the best spots on the river for a relaxed atmosphere and delicious food.
How do we get to Albury?
Albury is a cute town on the border of NSW and Victoria in Australia. Since it's on the border, it's relatively accessible from all parts of Australia.
From Sydney: If you're travelling from Sydney, you can either fly into the Albury aiport or take the Regional Express Train (XPT) from Sydney to Albury. The train is slightly more cost effective, however it can often run late. Alternatively, the drive from Sydney to Albury is approximately 7 hours. Ask on the Facebook Page for car pooling potential.
From Melbourne: If you're travelling from Melbourne, we would recommend not taking the plane. By the time you get to the airport, check in, the process is so much slower than on the ground. It's also not very cost effective. Instead, take the VLine from Melbourne, Southern Cross to Albury. There's currently a regional fare cap in place, and it only costs $6.75 AUD for an adult. Alternatively, the drive from Melbourne to Albury is approximately 3 hours. You could either hire a car, or ask on the Facebook Page for car pooling potential.
From elsewhere: If you're travelling from somewhere else in Australia or the world, we recommend flying directly into Albury (if you're travelling domestic), or fly into Melbourne or Sydney and connect through to Albury for internationals. The Albury airport is nice and small, thus there's not a long checkout process and you'll complete customs where you land from your international destination (for those flying in from overseas). The Albury airport is also a 10-15 minute drive from anywhere in town. We would recommend booking an Uber in advance, or calling a local cab on +61 2 6025 2255.

How do we get around Albury?
Albury is a small town, and everything is within walking distance. If you're staying in town, you can walk to most places. If you're staying further out, you can either hire a car, or call a local cab on +61 2 6025 2255. Alternatively, you can book an Uber in advance, although these are generally not very available. Ask on the Facebook Page about potential car pooling and pick ups to get to the venues. The Mannerings live further out and thus you'll need wheels to get there. If you get stuck, post on the Facebook Page and we'll try to coordinate people as best as possible.
Do you have recommendations for accommodation?
We'd recommend getting in early for accommodation since there will be a lot of people wanting to book. There are however, plenty of places for accommodation to suit all budgets. TripAdvisor has a full list of all the hotels available in Albury, from $89 AUD to $600 AUD and everything in between. We'd recommend The Mantra Albury. It's right in the middle of town, close to everything, and only a walk across the road to the church. We've even secured a discount code to use at The Mantra. Use the code "Mish and Max Wedding 2023" when booking for 10% off your room rate. There are also lots of AirBnbs currently available for the 9-10 Dec 23. We'd recommend getting together groups if you'd like to AirBnb or book larger hotel rooms. Check on the Facebook Page to see who you might be able to team up with. Unfortunately the Mannerings won't be able to provide accommodation as accommodation at the house will be reserved for immediate family members.
What's the weather like in Albury?
Albury is generally warm during summer (yes it will be summer for those coming from the Northern Hemisphere). Whilst we have had a few cooler summers, it can get up to 40°C (104°F). However it is unlikely to be at hot as we have been experiencing much cooler weather. It could very easily be 30°C (86°F) so please plan accordingly. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and water.
Where do we see all the photos?
Head to our OneDrive page and check out all the photos. If you have photos from the wedding, please create a new folder and upload yours. We'd love to see them! The official photographer's photos are also found on in this folder called "Captured Frames".
Who were all the vendors for your wedding?
We had an incredible list of vendors. Check them out:
